What We Do
Great Lakes GPR is primarily a utility based locating company that specializes in Structural Scanning Surveys, Utility Location Surveys and Ground Penetrating Radar Surveys. However, in recent years Great Lakes GPR has expanded its services into other near surface geophysical applications such as; Electromagnetics (EM) Surveys, Electrical Resistivity (ERI) Surveys, and Down-hole Well Logging.
Great Lakes GPR provides a service to our clients by giving them a better understanding of the subsurface and the subsurface features associate with each of their projects. Whether it’s the ground, concrete, asphalt, wall, or even ceiling Great Lakes GPR can provide accurate real-time information on the conditions within each of these media. With renovations taking place at older buildings there are plenty of unknowns. It is important to understand what’s in the subsurface in order to perform construction activities.

Experience
Great Lakes GPR prides its self on being able to provide the client with real time information on near surface geophysical data interpretation. Our staff is schooled and/or trained in Geology and Geophysics giving way to a better understanding of the near surface, and in turn, making for a better analysis of the geophysical data, ultimately, making it easier for our clients to make critical decisions in the construction and/or environmental process.
Great Lakes GPR has worked with, and continues to work with, a variety of clientele including; Contractors, Environmental Consulting Companies, Engineering Companies, Architectural Companies, City Planners, Local Government Agencies, Real Estate Developers, and Residential clients.

ServicesGeophysical methods respond to the physical properties of the sub-surface media (rocks, sediments, water, voids, metals, etc.) in which artificially generated signals are transmitted into the ground, which then modifies those signals in ways that are characteristic of the materials through which they travel. The altered signals are measured by appropriate detectors whose output can be displayed and ultimately interpreted. It is our goal to interpret the data and communicate the results clearly to the benefit of the surveying team and client. The various geophysical methods rely on different physical properties and are important that the appropriate technique be used for a given type of application.
